Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about EV charger permits, PE stamps, and Georgia incentives.

How fast do I get my EV charger engineering package after I order?+
Bid Package ($299) and Permit Package ($799) deliver in minutes. PE-Stamped Packages ($1,499–$2,499) ship within 72 hours because a Georgia-licensed Professional Engineer reviews and stamps every drawing.
What is a PE stamp and do I really need one?+
A PE stamp is a seal applied by a state-licensed Professional Engineer certifying the design meets code. Most Georgia AHJs (Authority Having Jurisdiction) require a PE-stamped electrical drawing for commercial EV charging installations over a certain load threshold. Single-family residential typically does not.
Are you Georgia-only? What about other states?+
Yes — PermitEV is currently licensed and configured for Georgia only. Our PE coordination is with GA-licensed engineers, and our incentive engine reflects Georgia Power, Atlanta Ordinance, and GA state credit programs. We are evaluating expansion to neighboring states.
Are your packages NEC 625 compliant?+
Yes. Every Bid, Permit, and PE-Stamped package is generated against NEC Article 625 (electric vehicle charging equipment) plus Article 220 (load calculations) and Article 250 (grounding). The single-line diagram, panel schedule, conductor sizing, and OCPD selection all reflect 2023 NEC tables.
What files do I receive when the package is ready?+
All paid tiers include a multi-sheet PDF (cover sheet, single-line diagram, panel schedule, NEC load calcs, elevations, general notes). Permit and PE-Stamped tiers also include DXF/CAD files for the single-line diagram, grounding riser, and site plan so your contractor or AHJ can mark up the drawings directly.
Do you do site visits or as-built field verification?+
No — PermitEV is a remote engineering service. We use the address, satellite imagery, panel photo upload, and the data you supply in the intake wizard. For sites with unusual existing conditions, the Premium tier includes a PE who can request additional photos or measurements before stamping.
What's your refund policy if I'm not satisfied?+
If your package fails AHJ permit review for an issue caused by our drawings, we will revise and resubmit at no additional cost. If you cancel before the package is generated, we issue a full refund. Once delivered, refunds are case-by-case.
How does pricing work for sites with many chargers?+
Bid and Permit tiers cover up to 8 charging ports at the listed flat price. The PE-Stamped tier is dynamically priced ($1,499–$2,499) based on charger count, voltage class (Level 2 vs DC fast), and whether a three-line diagram is required. Use the free incentive calculator to get an instant ballpark.
Will my Federal 30C tax credit really be claimable in 2026?+
The Federal 30C alternative fuel infrastructure tax credit covers up to $100,000 per qualifying property for chargers placed in service before June 30, 2026. To claim it, the equipment must be installed and operational by that date — which is why fast permit turnaround matters.
